Baby Update

Almost 9 weeks left! Oh my.

Petal is now 16" long (holy crap - how in the world does she fit inside of me???) and weighs at least 3 lbs. She is bigger than a large sized head of cabbage. Her vision is continuing to develop this week. Although she can see (she can even see light THROUGH my stomach/skin/etc...), Petal will have 20/400 vision when she is first born. Her vision will continue to develop throughout her early months after birth until she reaches 20/20 vision.

Petal now not only flips but interacts with me ok – just let me believe that she is!!. If she kicks me in a certain spot, I rub her foot or leg or hand or whatever appendage she prefers to use at that moment to maul my insides gently prod for my attention. If I stop rubbing, she will once again kick/punch that same area until I rub my belly/her body as I had been. It’s an interesting and exciting cycle. Although, I’d much prefer to do this while holding her… therefore eliminating my bruised insides. Yesterday she was positioned properly (good job, Petal)! But today, I think she's back to being breech/transverse as she has been for the most of my pregnancy. Sigh... we can try again in a couple weeks Petal. After 36 weeks is when position truly matters. I can tell you, her little head on my bladder was a WHOLE different world yesterday. I pee'd more than I have in my entire life ok, not really - but close enough!! 5 times during the night. Sick, isn’t it? I've perfected the "sleep-walk pee" where I don't even open my eyes.

Doctor visits every two weeks are useless BORING. Let me tell you. Measuring my belly, weighing me in and checking my blood pressure feels like a waste of time repetitive at this point. I’m so ready for it a break from it, or for Petal to be here already. I take that back – I’m SO not ready for Petal to be here. Too much to do still!

SO Blessed

One of the baby blogs I follow posted a baby "board" of all things girly that she loved. I must share because Petal is VERY blessed with several of these items!
1. FuzziBunz® Cloth Diaper - I don't have this brand, but another brand of cloth diapers.

2. Bottle drying rack, she doesn't have one of these yet... must get still!

3. BabyGap sweater. Not this EXACT sweater, but almost identical from BabyGap as well!

4. BabyGap chic knotted hat - Thank you Mrs. Brister, AND the matching socks.

5. Soft soled shoes - she's got a few pairs!

6. Aden & Anais muslin swaddling wraps - Thank you Cari (or maybe Nick who actually picked up the present for Petal) :)

7. Tennis shoes, she's got a few pairs thanks to Cari!

8. Leg warmers! Jess and I were ooohing and awwwing over these this weekend. So cute.

9. Backpack - Petal doesn't quite need one of these... but soon enough!

10. Fancy dress. She's not quite there yet. We're just too caugh up on all of the warm and cuddly things for when she's born.11. Hats! This girls' ears will be warm all winter long!

Thank You!

A very big THANK YOU to everyone who came out to my baby shower on Saturday. Jeremy, Petal and I were extremely blessed. Petals is going to be stylish, well read and well taken care of! J I’ll post some pictures of what we were given later tonight or tomorrow…

I’m especially thankful for Mandy and Samarah who hosted the shower for me. It was a great shower and I really enjoyed every moment. A huge “Thank You” to Jessica Brister as well. She flew up to MN for the weekend (making for almost a week away from her husband as he had been out of town) and suffered through a weekend with me. With me being pregnant, going to bed early, sick and super busy. Our CRAZY busy weekend was filled with not only with the shower but a 4 hour birthing class which she sat through and a birthday party for Jackson and Claire. J She’s now well prepared to birth and child and host a chaotic children birthday party. Lol… I’m blessed to have such amazing friends in my life. I wouldn’t be where I am today, without their love, support and friendship.

Belly Button in or out? Inny… barely holding on !

Hello 3rd Trimester!

Great to meet you Third Trimester! Although, I feel as though you have come far too quickly! I'm not quite prepared for you! I went to the doctor today. Everything is great. Petal's heartbeat was in the 140's. She wasn't thrilled with the doctor poking and prodding, trying to see her position (breach as always). Glucose test today. Results tomorrow... praying everything is in the clear. Hemoglobin test today - everything was good.

How far along? 28 Weeks – 3rd trimester!

Total weight gain/loss: gain 14 lbs. I have gained FAR too much weight in the past month! Ugh
Maternity clothes? Yup. Still rockin my non-maternity skinny jeans.
Stretch marks? Nope - PTL.
Sleep: Lately – CRAP.
L This is ridic! Don’t you need sleep to prepare for your baby’s arrival?!
Best moment this week: well, I guess it wasn’t a “moment” but it was the beautiful weather we had all last week… unfortunately, the upcoming week isn’t looking so fab. I'm not sure if this was on my last list, but my new niece has been a joy (from afar) for the past week. :) It's going to be great to meet her in two months!
Have you told family and friends: Family and friends know… my new co-workers are slowly but surely “figuring” it out. Obvi, I’m UBER preggo!
Miss Anything? Sushi, Beer. Horseback riding in the fall leaves. This continues on from last week…
Movement: Baby M is a MOVER!
Food cravings: Nope. Nothing unusual
Anything making you queasy or sick: Jeremy “fake” throwing up to make me sick. Glucola for my glucose test. It made me nauseous for the last four hours.
L
Have you started to show yet: I feel GINORMOUS!
Gender: Girl.
Labor Signs: No
Belly Button in or out? In
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or Moody most of the time: pretty much the same all week. I wasn’t overly up and down emotionally – I just remained the same all week.
Looking forward to: My baby shower Oct 15 - Jessica Brister visiting for the weekend!!! :) 4 days!

Autumn is... or isn't Upon Us?

Well, it's Autumn in MN but we've had usually warm weather - 80's-90'sF! And I've loved EVERY minute of it. :) I'm SO not ready for true cold Fall weather nor Winter... Partially, because I want MN Summers to last all year long (well, I'd take a couple months of Autumn and a miniscule time (just December?) of Winter). I have also wanted to keep Winter at bay because that means Petal will be here! I'm so not ready to give up my little sleep I get! I have WAY too much to do to get ready for Petal’s arrival! This weekend Jeremy and I went with some of our friends to the Severs Corn Maze. It was so warm out, almost hot! Which seemed strange to be picking our pumpkins and staring at Fall décor. But, it was a blast. Here’s me and my approx. pumpkin bump. J
